Terms & Conditions

Last updated September 2026

These terms cover your use of this website. By using the site, you accept them. They are deliberately straightforward, and they cover this website rather than the NOVA Fellows Program itself, which has its own rules and agreements when you apply.

Who these terms are with

NOVA Games Foundation, a non-profit corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States, runs this site. “NOVA”, “we” and “us” mean that organization. “You” means anyone using the site.

What this site is for

This site describes the NOVA Fellows Program and how to stay in touch with us. The information here is provided for general background - it is not an offer, legal or financial advice, or a commitment to grant funding.

Program details - including application dates, eligibility criteria, number of grants, and award amounts - may change. Submitting an inquiry or application through the site does not create a binding agreement between you and NOVA. A grant only becomes official when both parties sign a separate written Grant Agreement.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep this site accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is always complete or error-free. If information on this site conflicts with direct communications from NOVA or the official application guidelines, those official documents take priority. If you notice a mistake, please let us know!

Signing up and writing to us

When you give us an email address, tell us it is yours and that you are happy to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time.

When you send us a message, keep it lawful, civil, and honest. You must not misuse the site to pretend to be someone else, submit content you don’t have the rights to, or distribute malicious code.

Unsolicited materials and creative ideas

Please do not send us your game, pitch deck, script, art, or design ideas unless we have specifically requested them in writing. Unsolicited creative submissions are not reviewed, are not kept confidential, and create no legal or financial obligation on NOVA’s part. By sending an unsolicited idea anyway, you agree that NOVA is free to work on similar concepts - or collaborate with others who do - without compensation or credit to you.

What belongs to whom

Everything created for this site - including text, layout, original graphics, logos, and code - belongs to NOVA or our licensors. You may view, link to, and share pages as they are for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, sell, or republish our site material without our permission.

  • Game examples: Video games mentioned or showcased on the site belong to their respective creators and studios. We highlight them because we admire them, not to imply ownership or endorsement.
  • University partner marks: University names and logos belong to those institutions and appear with their permission.

Using the site properly

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, access non-public areas, bypass security features, scrape content at a scale that degrades service for others, or use the site to send unlawful or deceptive material. We may block or restrict access if you violate these rules.

Other people’s sites

We link to external websites or partner services for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy policies.

What we are responsible for

This site is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no guarantees that the site will always be online, secure, or free from bugs or viruses.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NOVA and its directors, officers, employees, and team members are not liable for indirect or consequential losses - such as lost profits, lost data, or missed opportunities - arising from your use of (or inability to use) this site. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory rights provided by your local laws.

Your responsibility to us

If you violate these terms, misuse the website unlawfully, or submit content that infringes someone else’s rights, you agree to reimburse NOVA for any reasonable legal expenses, losses, or damages that result from your actions.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms as needed. The version published here applies, and the date at the top indicates when it was last revised.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts of Delaware have jurisdiction over disputes concerning these terms, except where your local consumer protection laws grant you the right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction.
